Sharia & corporate consultancy
Sharia-compliant business solutions for a global market. Corporate consultancy for trading, manufacturing and services companies, and for banks, Takaful operators and Sukuk issuers — led by Dr M. Omer Rafique, Principal Consultant, Sharia practice (Mufti, PhD Malaysia), who signs every opinion. Where Sharia principles meet practical business solutions. Nine service lines, each closing with a named artefact. The work starts with a diagnostic — not a chat.
The work
What the work is measured against
Principles first — then the published standards that let a board, a regulator or an auditor check the same thing twice. Compliance that cannot be referenced is an opinion; compliance that can be referenced is an asset. Every recommendation names the standard it rests on.
Sharia standards and accounting treatment for Islamic financial institutions — the reference point for contract structure, profit distribution and income purification.
Prudential and governance guidance for Islamic financial services — used when a Sharia function has to survive supervisory review, not just internal review.
Pakistan’s Shariah governance requirements for companies and banking institutions — board composition, internal Sharia review, and reporting lines.
The underlying principles — prohibition of Riba, avoidance of Gharar and Maysir, certainty of obligation, and lawful earning — from which every recommendation is derived, not retrofitted.

Independence note. Advisory and review are contracted separately. Where a framework, policy or Zakat system has been designed by this practice, any later assurance over it is issued as a management gap analysis — not as an independent Sharia audit. If independent attestation is required, we scope it for an external reviewer and say so in writing.
The corporate side of the desk
Sharia compliance fails when the company underneath it has no structure to comply with. These are the corporate heads we build or repair first — six areas, each with a named deliverable.
Board and committee structure, delegation of authority, meeting and minute discipline. Deliverable: Governance Charter & Authority Matrix.
Process documentation with control points that can actually be tested. Deliverable: SOP Set & Control Register.
Risk register, compliance calendar, escalation routes and ownership. Deliverable: Risk Register & Compliance Calendar.
Commercial agreements screened for enforceability and for Riba, Gharar and Maysir. Deliverable: Contract Certainty Review.
Roles, reporting lines, spans of control and succession for key functions. Deliverable: Org & Role Definition Pack.
The monthly pack a board can act on, tied to the books and the compliance position. Deliverable: Monthly Reporting Pack.
Industries we serve
Contracts, inventory and financing structures screened for Riba, Gharar and Maysir — so trade stays trade.
Service agreements and revenue models aligned with Sharia principles without slowing the business down.
Banks, Takaful operators, Sukuk issuers and Islamic fintech platforms — governance, structuring review and policy that regulators recognise.
Right-sized Zakat systems, contract screening and compliance — without enterprise-level overhead.
Zakat distribution, governance and donor-facing policies that hold up to scrutiny.
How we work
Dr M. Omer Rafique, Mufti
Principal Consultant, Sharia practice · Mufti · PhD (Malaysia) · English, Arabic, Urdu
Dr M. Omer Rafique is a Mufti holding a PhD from Malaysia, specialising in Islamic finance, Sharia governance and ethical business management. He has trained young Ulama and Muftis through Applied Islamic Finance for Young Ulama & Muftis, and brings academic depth to every engagement — from a first Zakat system to a full Sharia department.
He personally leads delivery across this practice: Sharia audits, Zakat implementation, Sharia-based investment consultancy and contract security. Multilingual — English, Arabic and Urdu — with a needs-first approach: the engagement is scoped to what the business actually requires, never to a template.
01Academic Depth
A Mufti with a PhD (Malaysia). Islamic finance advice grounded in rigorous scholarship — not opinion dressed as authority.
02Practical Experience
Real businesses, real contracts, real implementations. Guidance that survives contact with operations.
03Multilingual
English, Arabic and Urdu. Scholars, boards and teams addressed in the right language — nothing lost in translation.
04Needs-First Approach
Scope follows the business’s actual needs. No templates, no upsells, no Sharia theatre.
Let’s talk
Consultation requests come through the diagnostic form on this page. Partnership inquiries are marked “Partnership Inquiry” and routed the same way. Finish the diagnostic, review the summary, then send it — WhatsApp opens only from the finished form.
Scope & confidentiality. Every engagement starts with a written scope: deliverable, standard referenced, timeline and who signs it. The diagnostic runs entirely in your browser — nothing is stored or transmitted by this page, and the summary is sent only when you choose to send it. Client information is treated as confidential and is not used as a reference without written permission.
